The whole stack, one studio.
We design it and build it, then run the cloud it lives on and keep it secure. The design is the part you see; most of the engineering is the part you don’t — the same hands from first sketch to third year.
Design & build
The part you see. Sites drawn for the business behind them, not adapted from a theme — hand-built, fast on a phone with two bars, accessible by default. Then the structure search engines reward and the writing your customers actually type, measured well enough to know what worked.
Infrastructure & cloud
The part you don’t see. Cloud accounts, servers, containers, networks, DNS, backups that have actually been restored, and the monitoring that says so. We run what we build, and we’ll take on what you already have — documented, patched, watched.
Security engineering
Hands-on, not paperwork: hardening, patch discipline, firewalls and edge protection, alerting, and a tested plan for the night something gets in. Strategy, compliance and risk assessment are our sister company, Signal & Soil; the engineering that follows is here.
Applications & automation
Booking engines, dashboards, internal tools, integrations with the software you already pay for, and the data plumbing underneath. Built as small as the problem allows and documented so the next developer isn’t doing archaeology. When a spreadsheet and one clear rule would do, we say so.

The Fernie Group
Cybersecurity consultants needed a site that practiced what they preach. Rebuilt from shared hosting to hardened infrastructure that sends its own mail — with security headers their own auditors would sign off on.

Studio
Graphite & Moss is a small studio on Vancouver Island, working with clients across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The name is the method: graphite is the pencil and the conductor — design and infrastructure in one material; moss is what thrives here when something is built to last. Hosting runs on Minservers, our own managed platform. The studio does the whole build — the design, the site, the cloud it runs on, the security around it.
